Why there is no form on this page
Every other service page here ends in "tell us what you need and we will introduce you to someone". This one does not, on purpose.
Astrology is a trust-critical category: someone consulting a Jyotish practitioner about a marriage, an illness or a business decision is at their most persuadable. Every large astrology platform online is corrupted by paid placement — the practitioner you are shown is the one who paid, and you have no way of telling. If we hand-picked one for you, we would be doing the same thing, whether or not money changed hands.
So the practitioners sit in the Sangh directory, ranked by reviews and completed consultations, where nobody can buy position and you can see the basis for the ranking. That is a written commitment, not a current policy.
What to ask before you book
- What system do you work in? Parāśari, Jaimini, Krishnamurti Paddhati, Nāḍi and Western astrology are different systems with different methods. A practitioner should name theirs without hesitating.
- What do you need from me? Date, exact time and place of birth. A consultation offered without a birth time is doing something other than what it claims.
- What does the consultation include, and what does it cost? A number, in advance, for a defined length of time.
- How do you handle remedies? This is the important one, below.
The warning sign worth knowing
The business model to avoid is the free or cheap reading that arrives at an urgent problem — a doṣa, a curse, a planetary period requiring immediate intervention — and a remedy sold by the same person: a stone, a yantra, a series of pujas, escalating in price.
A practitioner who charges for their time and does not sell you the cure is a different proposition from one who gives their time away and sells remedies. Both exist in large numbers.
What we do not say
We do not take a position on whether Jyotish works. That is not a question this site is qualified to settle, and pretending otherwise in either direction would be dishonest. What we can do is describe the practice accurately and refuse to profit from steering you at anyone in particular.
