Terms of use
Short, because this site does not do much: it publishes writing and answers questions.
What you may do with what is here
Read it, quote it, and send it to your family — that last one is more or less the point. Quote a paragraph with a link back and we are happy. Republishing whole articles, or feeding the site wholesale into a training corpus, we are not.
What this site is not
Nothing here is professional advice. That matters most in the NRI section: those pages explain how rules work, and they cannot know your circumstances. Before you act on anything involving money, property or tax, talk to a professional who can.
Religious material is described, not prescribed. Where traditions differ we set out the difference and do not tell you which is correct.
Accuracy, and getting it wrong
We check what we publish, we say on each page who checked it, and we correct errors in the open. We cannot promise a page is free of error, and living practice — a temple's timings, a festival's local date — changes without telling us. Where a page tells you to confirm something locally, please do.
