Why bother, when apps exist
For a city you know, the apps are fine and cheaper. This is for the arrivals that go wrong: an unfamiliar airport at an unreasonable hour, a parent travelling alone, a flight that lands late and a queue that has stopped running, or a day that needs the same car and driver for nine hours.
What it costs
The operator quotes directly, at local rates plus a booking fee. Airport pickups are quoted as a fixed price including parking and waiting, because the meter version of that conversation at midnight is the thing you are paying to avoid.
As with trip planning, this goes to one operator rather than a panel, and they pay us a referral fee that does not change your price. You could book a car more cheaply yourself through an app. What you are buying here is that somebody known to us is accountable for the driver turning up.
