Why bother, when apps exist
For a city you know, the apps are fine and cheaper. This is for the arrivals that go wrong: an unfamiliar airport at an unreasonable hour, a parent travelling alone, a flight that lands late and a queue that has stopped running, or a day that needs the same car and driver for nine hours.
What it costs
The operator quotes directly, at local rates plus a booking fee. Airport pickups are quoted as a fixed price including parking and waiting, because the meter version of that conversation at midnight is the thing you are paying to avoid.
